Frequently Asked Questions

What is Therapy?

Therapy is an opportunity to work through life’s situations—about issues that are important to you as the client, while having a trained objective person (Therapist) help you dig deep to work through not only the current situations at hand, but applying it to the future. Therapy also involves healing from past situations as you navigate life’s highs and lows. Therapy can be about one specific problem, or it can be about multiple. The relationship between the therapist and the client and the work done is a collaborative one, as it requires an active role from both the client at the counselor to help bring change.

How can therapy help me?

There are too many benefits of participating in therapy to list! Therapists can provide support, problem solving skills and coping strategies for a wide range of issues. Therapists, being objective, can provide a different or a fresh perspective on a problem that you have been struggling with.

Benefits of therapy depend on your commitment and level of readiness. Some benefits can include, boosting self confidence or improving self esteem, improving communication skills, learning/finding new coping skills, attaining a better understanding of yourself, changing old patterns and developing new ones, or managing your emotional feeling such as sadness, anger or other highly charged emotions you may be feeling?

How long are sessions?

Therapy sessions are typically 45-50 minutes, while groups run longer per session. Clients typically meet on a weekly or bi weekly basis depending on the client’s needs. Length of time while in therapy will depend on the individual client’s circumstance. The therapist and client will determine that together.

What is the cost per session?

The Journey Within is a private pay practice. Cost for the initial intake/diagnostic assessment is $200 with additional weekly sessions being $150. If you are wishing to utilize your own insurance benefits, we are able to provide clients (upon request) a Super Bill on a monthly basis, which can be submitted as an out of network claim. IMPORTANT: Please check with your insurance provider regarding their out of network coverage. Sessions fees are paid for each time you meet with your therapist. (Please call regarding cost as a limited number of sliding scale scholarship spots are available). *Please note, pricing does not change if client does not utilize full clinical hour, however longer sessions are available.

What forms of payment do you accept?

We accept all major credit cards and FSA. Payment is due at the time of service. Clients are responsible for charges of services rendered.
